Foxfit Part 2

The Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital (WKZ) encountered a problem concerning a lack of motivation in patients during sustained maximum effort cardiological testing. This lack of motivation causes patients to quit early, which leads to less accurate test results. To address this problem, we expanded FoxFit, an applied game designed to improve patient engagement, thus increasing accuracy of test results. FoxFit motivates patients to perform their maximum effort test until exhaustion. This is done by creating a constantly changing environment in which the player receives feedback based on the real-time bike data. The player can obtain collectibles and rescue friends by pedaling at the correct pace on the stationary bike. This creates a comforting and engaging experience, encouraging the patients to perform until maximum exertion, increasing the fidelity of test results.
